Days off

    The kids have a nice long weekend coming. They are off from school this coming Monday and Tuesday for Rosh Hashanah.

Throw it away or pay? Wasting food @ school

  The school system now have it where the kids are forced to waste food or money. The kids have to take everything that goes with the lunch or they will charge the parents A la carte. If they are serving something your kids don't like they have to take it anyway and just throw it away, or else you get charged. What sense does that make? We teach our children not to waste food but at school they have to or pay for not liking what is served. That is some bs if I ever heard any!

The 1st 3 days.......

   The children went back to school on September 5th and so far all is well. No complaints about teachers or classes but I know that is to come. Everything always starts out all well and good but it never seems to stay that way all year long. Once the homework load gets a bit heavier and tests come more frequently, the drama will begin! Wishing my children and everyone else's a wonderful 2012/2013 school year.

iPad replaces textbooks.....Monroe Township High School

  For about a year now, Monroe Township High School has replaced some textbooks with iPads. I love the idea and concept of going green. I can definitely appreciate the fact that my kids won't be lugging a 50lb backpack home everyday. It was getting to be a bit much with all these textbooks and the backpacks could barely hold them. The big binders were a problem as well; the kids couldn't even zip the backpacks up completely. Now the thing that worries parents most is the what if's? What if someone steals their kids iPad from their gym locker or school locker? What if they drop it and has to be replaced and you can't afford to do that. They do offer insurance options for the what if's.
   Shout out to the Monroe Falcons football team! My son, Elijah, is on the Varsity team and my other son, Dimitri, is on the freshman team. GO MONROE!!!! Wishing you all the best this season! God bless!

SUPPLIES

        It's August and the schools have yet to send out the supplies list for the  2012/2013  school year. Mind you Target and Walmart had the supplies ready and available for purchase for about a month now. I hate being a last minute purchaser because there isn't much left by then. I have 3 kids to buy school supplies for, and when you have to buy from Staples it can be very, very costly! The binders alone is a headache, they charge to much at Staples!
